It is now Saturday afternoon. We arrived in Tagtha last night just at the beginning of the Jewish Sabbath. Towns were quiet--traffic very light. We were very tired. We were also very surprised when we were delivered to the Mount of Beatitudes Guest House instead of the Scots Hotel which is where we thought we would be. But God has a way of knowing what we need. This guest house sits on the Mount of Beautitudes and overlooks the Sea of Galilee. It is not geared to tourists but rather to renewal. It is an ideal location to find peace for the soul. God knows what we need.
Today we went to the Cliff of Arbel and took in the panoramic view of the area--Capernum, Tiberias, Magdala and more. It gave us a good perspective to better understand where Jesus traveled. Yes, he walked on the ground that we were looking at. Then into Capernum to examine the ruins, Peter's house, the synagogue where Jesus taught and other indications of life in Capernum. Interesting fact--not all fishermen of Jesus day were poor. If they owned a boat, they were considered upper class! So even in casting for his own disciples, Jesus intertwined class in many ways.
Friends, my mind is spinning, my heart is filled, my soul is peaceful and my body is rested. Blessings to all you.
